I think I'm back to normal - just give me five more days!

Good morning my blogging friends!!

It has taken me a long time to get back into routine - or some semblance of that - after the holidays. I enjoyed the Christmas break more this year then ever before. I am not sure what the difference was. But I LOVED being home with my family playing games, going to movies, sleeping in and just being together. So when it came time to get back to work and school, not too mention the dulldrums of January, I struggled mightly.

I am one that gets the seasonal blahs - mainly in January. It's cold and here it's really dark. My massage clients come in with different aches and pains then normal, so work is more challenging. Truly, I count down the days in January just to get the blessed month over with!

Not wanting to end this first blog of the new year sounding so defeated - I will let you know how I combat the January blues:
1. Exercise every day - okay I know I do that all year, but believe me in January, I want to sleep in EVERY day. It is a true feat to get out of bed and get moving.
2. Emerse myself in the scriptures
3. Read - currently enjoying The Geurnsey Literary and Potato Peel Society and Feeding the Demon
4. Eat really healthy and increase the vitamins.
5. Watch my favorite shows - 24 and Lost
6. Throw an extra blanket on the bed at night and sleep deeply.
7. And let myself have a little cry, a little tantrum, or a little pout if needed - but just a little!!

Five more days to go - we can do this!!!

I'm usually not prone to the blues or the blahs of January, but I've noticed it creeping in this year. My runs have helped! It's cold for all of 30 seconds then I'm good.
I'm sorry you've been less than exuberant lately. I'd say something to cheer you, but Nik just got his license this morning and I'm feeling a little less than jovial myself.
I love the Geurnsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Good book!
I think of you often when I'm out running and training for my marathon. Know that you are thought of and loved. Sometimes that helps!

I've missed you and you are not alone with the January blahs...me too!
